Ransbach-Baumbach · Westerwald

Following the outstanding success of the 2019/20 tour and at the request of her fans, world star Deborah Sasson has been secured to take to the stage once again in the role of Christine in the 2022/23 season. The singer's interplay with Germany's number one musical star, Uwe Kroeger, who continues in the role of The Phantom, has been celebrated by audiences and press everywhere. Since 2010, "The Phantom of the Opera" by the writing team Deborah Sasson and Jochen Sautter has captivated audiences on the stages of Europe. Now, the forced break of the Corona Pandemic has been creatively used to completely rework the production musically. The successful British musician Ryan Martin, who has composed and arranged music for Cirque du Soleil, America's Got Talent, Netflix, BBC, ABC, CBS and Fox USA, among others, could be won for this. The spectacular stage design lives both from the effective, three-dimensional video projections by the internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Daniel Stryjecki and from the grandiose stage elements built by Michael Scott of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. This new production, once created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the novel "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra" written by Gaston Leroux in 1910, is one of the most successful touring musicals in Europe. The production stands out from all previous musical interpretations of the literary material by sticking closer to the novel and incorporating well-known opera quotes in parts of the music composed by Sasson. The role of Christine is interpreted by the world-renowned Boston soprano and Echo Klassik award winner Deborah Sasson. Her multi-faceted and powerful voice is perfect for this blend of opera and musical. The Phantom is played by Uwe Kroeger, who has captured the hearts of audiences since his breakthrough in the role of Death in the world premiere of Elisabeth. Among others, he played the leading roles in the world premieres of Rebecca, Mozart, The Visit of the Old Lady, Heidi and in the German-language premieres of Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, Doctor Dolittle, The Addams Family as well as Napoleon at London's West End. Now, in this production, he slips into the role of the phantom, feared by the world and torn apart inside. Furthermore, a large ensemble of selected singers, dancers and actors from German-speaking countries will be taking part.
