The first few kilometres of the Moselsteig Trail here are all about wine: it passes through the seemingly endless romantic vineyards around Neumagen-Dhron. By contrast, detours from the main trail take you through ancient mixed beech forests, past flowering broom bushes and wild grasses. Your gaze is drawn again and again over the expanses of vineyards or into the distant Moselle Valley and the impressive rocks of the Moselle-Loreley. The trail then passes through a long gorge onwards to the Roman "Sauerbrunnen", a mineral spring, which provides a perfect place to rest and unwind with some water-treading. The villages of Kesten and Osann-Monzel at the end of this stage provide the perfect setting for a wonderfully relaxing end to the day.

The relevant route details are displayed and you can save the desired tour as a PDF, print it out or download the GPS data for it. In addition to the tours, the interactive map included in the tour planner shows you the available attractions, restaurants and accommodation along the route. You can also visit the ‘Community’ section in the tour planner to read about other people’s hiking experiences or submit your own reviews.
