Monastery ruin Marienthal

Of the monastery, the baroque monastery church has essentially survived as a ruin. It is a nave with high lancet windows and round apse. The outer walls are largely overgrown with ivy and Parthenocissus. The remains of the building are now used as a venue for events. Parts of the cloister as well as the east and north wings and the remains of the outer wall of another wing of the building have been preserved from the monastery. Furthermore, the abbess's house exists as a garden pavilion built in 1762 in rococo style.

In 1925, buildings of the Marienthal wine-growing domain were attached to the historical remains in the style of monastic enclosure buildings. This created an inner courtyard which is now used for gastronomic purposes. Of the historic buildings from the 12th century, barrel vaults have been preserved and today house a wine cellar. A burial vault was discovered below the cloister in 2012.
