On 16th August 2008 the museum opened its doors to the public. On a surface of 200 sqm, its visitors learn a lot about the Limes, whose beginning (caput limitis) is in Rheinbrohl , conflicts, barter and trade, the Roman soldiers' life, attire, battle tactics and weaponry. What is so special about this museum? It is the fact that you are not only allowed to touch, to smell, to try – you are actually encouraged to do so! · Have you ever played the ancient version of Nine Men’s Morris? – Try it! · How does garum smell? Take a whiff · How much does a chain mail weigh? Put it on You are not just a mere bystander – here you can experience Roman history with all your senses!
