A colourful programme with live music, culinary offerings, with wine stalls and fairground rides awaits numerous guests.
On 24 September at 3 pm, the festival will be opened by the Red Wine Queen Julia IV.
Ingelheim wineries and the Vinothek present a selection of their best red and white wines and sparkling wines over nine days. An extensive programme on four stages offers the right music for every taste. And for the younger visitors (aged 12-17), the Green Room has become a popular meeting place in recent years.
Once again this year, the marquee host Martin Schewer will spoil the guests of the Red Wine Festival in the marquee "Kaiser-Schänke" with selected dishes and delicious Ingelheim wines in a cosy and inviting ambience.
In addition to the wine romance, the family audience can look forward to an attractive amusement park with many special activities for the "youngest" among the festival visitors. The daily illumination of the fortifications around the castle church adds to the cosiness in the evening hours.
The Mayor's Burgundy wine tasting on Friday, 30 September will once again feature not only excellent Frühburgunder and Spätburgunder wines, but also white and grey Burgundies as well as Blanc de Noir.
The red wine festival in the historic Burgkirchen area is one of the most beautiful wine festivals in Rheinhessen. This has been official since 2014, as the "Excellent Wine Festival" seal is only awarded by Rheinhessenwein GmbH to outstanding wine festivals that meet the high standards for wine offerings, food and quality of stay.
The Red Wine Festival is supported by Mainzer Volksbank eG, Karl Gemünden GmbH, Rheinhessische Energie- und Wasserversorgungs-GmbH and Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe.
