International Days Ingelheim

The artistic work of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880 – 1938) will be presented for the first time as part of a monographic exhibition as part of the International Days in Ingelheim. With over 90 works - drawings, watercolours, prints and some exemplary paintings - insights into the most important stages of one of the most important and influential artists in Germany are provided.

Adapted to the exhibition space of the Kunstforum Ingelheim - Altes Rathaus - the concept of the curators Dr. Ulrich Luckhardt and Dagmar Lott M.A. presents a selection of works precisely tailored to five rooms, which provides an insight into Kirchner's work. Each of the exhibition rooms illustrates a "station" in the life and artistic work of the artist.

The goal of the Ingelheim exhibition “Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. Stations” is to present the five important stages in Kirchner's artistic work and life with concise examples of the highest quality. The show includes over 90 works that are on loan from public and private collections in Germany and Switzerland.

A comprehensive catalog will be published by HIRMER Verlag in spring 2023, in which all the works on display are reproduced in color.

With the exhibition “Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. Stations” says goodbye to Dr. Ulrich Luckhardt is retiring from the International Days after more than 10 years. As of July 1, 2023, Dr. Katharina Henkel, who officially started work earlier this year.
