"Winningen in the glow of lights" with vineyard lights and colorful program

After a year without Lichterglanz, Winningen will shine again! The preparations for the festival from 26 to 28 November are in full swing. The joy is great not only among the "makers". No sooner was the good news posted on the net than it was commented on by many Facebook users and shared thousands of times. However: The celebration will not be able to be like in former times, because the Corona editions give - after today's state - a 2-G-corset. Elvira Löhr, chairwoman of the organizing association: "Even if we have more work and additional costs, it would not be an alternative to skip the "Lichterglanz". Better to celebrate in hygiene limits than not at all." A colorful program with "stilt walkers", the "Ice Queen", the mini steam train, Santa Claus with his reindeer and lots of music await the visitors. As in previous years, Winningen will shine in a blaze of lights. Streets and houses will be illuminated and the lighted Christmas trees in the vineyards shall announce far and wide that Winningen presents itself in a Christmas dress and that a stroll through the alleys is worthwhile in any case. Around 300 strings of lights, many strung across the alleys by the young winegrowers, and the now famous Winninger Rebenkugeln, give the town a very special glow. The "Winninger Rebenkugeln" have meanwhile become a big hit. In these days the 1000th Rebenkugel was delivered. As in previous years, the village and vineyard lights will be on from the 1st Advent until mid-January, so that a visit to Winningen after the festive weekend is also a nice way to get in the mood for Christmas. This includes for the first time the illuminated "Brückstücksweg". At each Christmas tree set up there not only the light chains burn. Giant Christmas balls with a diameter of 120 centimeters are hung up - of course also illuminated. In addition, the vineyards will be illuminated in bright colors. As things stand today, the festive weekend from November 26 to 28 will not be without Corona game rules. In concrete terms, this means that controls will be carried out according to the 2G concept. Only those who are vaccinated or recovered will be allowed to visit the "inner circle" of the festival. The areas "Am Weinhof" and "Am Marktplatz" are demarcated, so there will be no access there without proof of vaccination or recovery. 2G visitors will receive a "Lichterglanz admission wristband". With it the guests can identify themselves also in the place. Sandra Löhr from the Lichterglanz association:" We expressly point out that the vendors outside the two zones are themselves responsible for compliance with the Corona regulations." Registered are at present about 100 offerers, who wait with Christmas goods, mulled wine and all kinds of delights for their public. Lichterglanz board member Thomas Lange: "We would like to point out that there will be no parking facilities in the village. Those arriving by car should therefore use the parking area on the camping island Ziehfurt on the B416 (well signposted). From there, Schuttle buses will drive into the village. The trips of the shuttle service will be carried out according to the hygiene regulation "Bus&Bahn", because an individual control is not feasible. This means that when using local and long-distance public transport and the facilities belonging to it, such as when stopping at bus stops or platforms, the general protective measures apply, in particular the obligation to wear a mask. The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the means of public transport is prohibited." Winningen im Lichterglanz" will be opened already traditionally with the big torchlight walk from the airfield through the vineyards to the center of the village. Shuttle buses will take participants to the start at the airfield, either from the Campinginsel parking lot or from the town center (Blumen-Brühl bus stop, August-Horch-Strasse). The hike will be accompanied by the Winningen Volunteer Fire Department, which will also offer torches for sale. The proceeds will go to the Winningen youth fire department.
