Update on the situation in the Ahr valley

The Ahr valley region (see red mark on the map) is still affected by the consequences of the flood in July. Large parts of the tourist infrastructure in the Ahr valley were destroyed. In the meantime, some tourism offers are available again to a limited extent. On its separate website www.ahrtal.de/fuer-sie-da, the Ahrtal-Tourismus Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler e.V. provides information on which experiences are currently possible in the region and which restaurants, wineries and shops can welcome guests again.

A large part of the hiking and cycling paths in the Ahr valley are still impassable or their condition is still impaired. Please find out which paths are safe, accessible and hikeable.

Important information on travel and local infrastructure is also provided on the Ahr Valley website.

In the past weeks, we have received several enquiries as to whether and how donations can be made for the affected regions. We would like to refer you to the official donation account of the state government. If you would like to donate something, you can transfer an amount to the account of the Landeshauptkasse Mainz under the keyword "Katastrophenhilfe Hochwasser" (disaster relief flood), which can officially be found here.
